In 2025, The NelliJam music festival will move into its 14th year! It has become an iconic South Coast festival and we are incredibly proud of what this event has done for our community and for the profile of original live music in these parts.
Held on the second weekend of January each year at The Steampacket Hotel, in the beautiful river-town of Nelligen. NelliJam is the brainchild of local musician and educator Danny Freeman, who was constantly disgruntled as to the lack of original music in his hometown. He set out to fix the ‘scene’ and to put original, live music back on the radar. And it worked!
The First ever NelliJam in 2010, was a very humble affair. Four local acts and about 100 very excited punters. Wind the clock forward and you’ll now see upwards of 700 ‘NelliJammer’s (as they are now known) being entertained by some of the biggest acts in Oz. In 2024 it was The Choirboys who headlined. Who will it be in 2025? The question on everyones lips!
NelliJam is a kid-friendly festival, designed to be a great day out for the whole family. Our lineup generally has a Rock and Blues flavour, with a smattering of everything else. The prerequisite has always been simple – quality musicians playing original music to appreciative audiences. That’s when the magic happens! That’s when everyone is a winner!
