The NelliJam music festival is now in its 14th year! It has become an iconic South Coast festival and we are incredibly proud of what it has done for our community and for the profile of original live music in these parts.
Held on the second weekend of January each year at The newly renovated Steampacket Hotel, in the beautiful river-town of Nelligen. NelliJam is the brainchild of local musician and educator Danny Freeman who was constantly disgruntled as to the lack of original music in his hometown. He set out to fix the ‘scene’ and to put original, live music back on the radar. And it worked!
The First ever NelliJam 14 years ago was a very humble affair. Four local acts and about 100 very excited punters. Wind the clock forward to now and you’ll see upwards of 700 NelliJammer’s (as they are now known) being entertained by some of the biggest acts in Oz. This year, The Choirboys headline! Say no more…..
NelliJam is a child friendly festival, designed to be a great day out for the everyone. The lineup generally has a Rock and Blues flavour with a smattering of everything else. The prerequisite has always been simple – quality musicians playing original music to appreciative audiences. That’s when the magic happens! That’s when everyone is a winner!
